MECCA HQ reviews Drunk Elephant's new hair and body set, The Littles: Head to Toe

One of the things we all have in common at MECCA HQ is that we LOVE a mini—but even more so, a set of minis. It’s the perfect opportunity to try a whole bunch of new products, get a proper use out of them and see if there’s something we’d want to repurchase as part of our daily routine (also, they’re great for travel!). When Drunk Elephant recently launched their latest set of minis for hair and body, The Littles: Head to Toe, we all wanted a piece and knew that our beauty community would too. So to celebrate the launch and give all of you at home a little teaser, we decided to hand out these minis to some of our staff to have a try and see what they thought. Check out our honest opinions right here!

Olivia tried the Drunk Elephant Kamili™ Cream Body Cleanser

With Drunk Elephant being a staple of my daily skincare, I was so excited to hear that the brand was making a foray into hair and body products. So I (of course!) jumped at the chance to try the Kamili™ Cream Body Cleanser on my sensitive skin. I was really impressed with the smooth, light texture of the cleanser and it worked beautifully with an exfoliating glove for a gentle scrub. There was no residue or lingering smell post shower and my skin felt happy and hydrated, even in this cold Melbourne winter!

Nicole tried the Cocomino™ Glossing Shampoo and Cocomino™ Marula Cream Conditioner

I’ve never been one to invest in my hair routine, but after trying these—I’m converted. If the almond scent of the shampoo doesn’t get you hooked immediately then the silky, soft feel of your hair after a wash will. Not only that, but my hair felt clean and fresh for three days after using it (usually I wash my hair every two days). Highly recommend this nourishing duo if you’re looking for something to smooth, protect and hydrate your hair!

Tom tried the Sweet Pitti™ Deodorant Cream

Complete honesty: I did not think I was going to like this product nearly as much as I did. As a person with armpit hair who has been lovingly described as a ‘Sweaty Betty’, the idea of a cream deodorant did not appeal to me—but wow was I wrong! Using just a small amount and rubbing it in with my fingers, the product absorbed incredibly well despite the presence of hair. My armpits stayed dry all day, even through light exercise, and I never noticed body odour over the week I used it. Also, it smells exactly like cherry flavoured gobstoppers—no joke (I even asked my housemate). I’ll definitely be repurchasing.

Kerri tried the T.L.C. Happi Scalp Scrub

I like to scrub my scalp monthly as I feel it’s the only thing that truly clears away dry shampoo build-up, but the coarse nature of the scrubs I have previously tried meant that they took quite a lot of work to massage into—and wash out of—my hair. T.L.C. Happi Scalp Scrub is much finer, relying more on glycolic rather than granules to exfoliate my scalp. The consistency is quite dry, but became super silky when wet, and had a light heating sensation after a few minutes of application. It was way easier to wash out than scrubs I’ve previously used and left my hair the cleanest and shiniest it’s been in a while. The packaging alone is game-changing, with a thin application tip that makes it so easy to apply the perfect amount of scrub into your roots. Consider this my official declaration of obsession.

Zara tried the Sili™ Body Lotion

My body care ‘collection’ (if you can call it that…) is made up of freebies from hotels and planes, so this almond oil-fuelled body moisturiser was a massive upgrade for me. It’s rich without being heavy (how?!) and absorbs easily. Not to be too TMI, but I do have some patches that border on light eczema and this wasn’t irritating and even calmed my skin down by the morning when I applied it at night, after showering and while I’m watching The West Wing. Only minus, if it is one, is that it smells like marzipan (because of the sweet almond, coconut and shea butter mixture) and it made me want to eat cookies every time I used it.

Penny tried the Wild Marula™ Tangle Spray

I have fine, coloured hair which tends to be on the oily side. A few spritzes of this in my hair after washing has made it much more manageable, and I have also noticed a lot less hair breakage after brushing which is a massive win for me. Plus, there’s the added bonus that it’s a heat protectant too. It left my hair soft and free of frizz post-blow dry, so I’ll definitely be re-purchasing this one.
