Watch: how to layer blush and highlighter to make your cheeks pop

Turn heads from the holiday party to New Year’s Eve with our edit of on-trend looks that get the celebration started. Spectacular holiday beauty starts here.

If a healthy glow is high on your wishlist this party season, then blush and highlighter are your perfect plus-ones. Intimidated by blush placement? Scared you’ll look like you’re auditioning for the lead role in Annie?

Just aim cream blush high on the cheeks to bring colour and lift to the face. For extra chisel – and cheekbones that twinkle – add highlighter across the cheekbones and brow bone and get ready to catch the light.

Blush

With fingers, tap on Stila Convertible Colour multi-purpose tint in ‘Petunia ’ high onto the apples of the cheeks for colour and lift.

Highlighter

Mix the two highlighters – ‘Radiant Light’ and ‘Strobe Powder’ – from Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit – Universe Unlocked and sweep over the tops of the cheekbones and brow bone, creating a sideways ‘V’ shape for added definition.

Powder

Using the same palette, add extra dimension with a light addition of powder blush in the shades ‘Blush Rose Heat’ and ‘Coral Flush’ – it will also help set the cream blush!

Lips

To tie the look together, blot the same Stila tint onto the lips.
