Watch: Why colour coding is the makeup trend you need to try now

The future looks bright! And as we return to work and play, it’s time to face forward: come out of our beauty ruts and slip into something a bit more bold. This month, we’re all about the low-effort switches that make for high-impact looks…which will you try?

With the launch of the NARS Claudette Collection we’re trading tired neutrals for vibrant shades of rust, auburn and red. The technique we’re using here is colour coding: working in the same colour family across lips, cheeks and eyes to create an ultra-modern look that’s also super wearable.

1. Perfect your base

The foundation for this look is perfected, natural-looking skin. Start with Stila One-Step Correct as a primer to neutralise redness and blur imperfections, followed by Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation for supernatural skin.

2. Groom your brows

Brows set the stage for your eye look. Fill in any gaps using HOURGLASS Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil and brush them up using HOURGLASS Arch Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel.

3. All eyes on rust

Using the NARS Claudette Palette, take the shade ‘L'ÉPHÉMÈRE’ across the lid and up through the crease using a fluffy brush. Finish the eye with a coat of Kosas The Big Clean Volumizing + Lash Care Mascara on the lashes.

4. It’s all peachy

Add a flush of peach-toned blush from the NARS Claudette Cheek Duo to the cheeks for a healthy glow.

5. Match your lips

Continue the colour trend on the lips with a coat of NARS Audacious Lipstick in Claudette across the lips to finish.

6. Make it last

Finish with a spritz of Mecca Cosmetica All Set Perfecting Mist for a radiant, hydrated finish and a look that lasts.
