Watch: This bright eyeshadow look is prettier than a summer sunset

Nothing pulls focus more than a glorious summer sunset (we have 2,673 photos in our camera roll to prove it) – and this eyeshadow tutorial channels that very eye-catching, very ‘Instagrammable’ mood. With dopamine shades of orange and purple – plus golden shimmers – we’re bringing sunset-drinks-in-Santorini to your face, even if your getaway is a little closer to home this year. Press play!

Start with Smashbox’s Photo Finish 24 Hour Eyeshadow Primer as a base to intensify the colour and staying power of the shadows.

Apply the MECCA MAX Single Shadow in ‘Radical’ – a bright orange – to the inner eye and crease with the bullet brush end of the Stila #30 Double-Ended Eye Shadow Brush, using soft outward strokes.

Using a clean brush and the Too Faced That's My Jam Eyeshadow Palette, apply ‘Grape Soda’ – a matte lilac – under the lower lash line and blend towards the middle of the eye.

Next, take ‘Violet Femmes’ (the shimmering lilac shade) and apply it in a ‘C’ shape under and above the outer corners.

Press ‘We Be Jammin’ – a bronze shimmer – onto the middle of the eyelid to make eyes pop, then open and brighten the eye area by applying ‘Pick Up Limes’ (a gold shimmer) to the inner corners.

A few coats of Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes Mascara will help add definition to the eye area.

Keep the focus on the eyes with a nude lip – we used RMS Beauty Tinted Daily Lip Balm in ‘Passion Lane’.

Sunset look, sorted! Now, if you’re looking for a fresh, glowing complexion to go with it, watch our sheer, illuminated base tutorial to see how it’s done.
